Background processing

Is there a way (or could there be a way!) to have the Scribd processing moved into being a background job, using something like the bj plugin?

This would be highly background processor dependent... I'm not super keen on the idea as Scribd is usually really fast in processing smaller (somewhat normal sized) documents. I'd be willing to look at a patch though...
